The CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) is one of the general-purpose particle detectors at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). The LHC is a particle accelerator used to study high-energy physics and the CMS is used to detect and analyze the subatomic particles produced in collisions between protons or heavy ions.
